The Australian manager has the chance to secure the treble this season, with a Scottish Cup final coming up next weekend against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Since the move for Arne Slot fell through, Tottenham are believed to have turned their attention to Ange Postecoglou to become their next permanent manager (Football Insider).

The latest from the Daily Record this weekend claimed Spurs were set to make a ‘swoop’ for the 57-year-old and have prepared an offer to tempt him away from Celtic.

Now, the man himself has gone on the record to discuss the speculation and appears to only have Celtic on his mind right now.

Speaking to Sky Sports (via Football Scotland), Postecoglou said: “I’ve been pretty straightforward [about the rumours], there’s nothing cryptic in my messages.

“We’ve got one game to go. I’m not talking about next year until we win next week.

“That’s our goal, we’ve got to win this cup. I’m not going to pass up the opportunity to do something special, to win a Treble.

“I know people have done it and greater things but I’m not going to look past that. I really want us to finish strong.

“It’s not going to be an easy game, it’s a cup final. We’re determined to get it done.”

Fair play to Postecoglou, there’s no way he should be thinking about anything other than that cup final.

Once that is out of the way, he’s more than within his right to consider Tottenham’s interest, if it comes to fruition.
