According to The Mirror the club are ready to offer Heung-min Son a new contract as he approaches the final two years of his current deal.
Despite a recent blip the South Korea star has had a strong season for Spurs, scoring 13 goals in all competitions, which puts him behind only Harry Kanein the club’s scoring charts .although he has lost his place in the first-choice starting XI to Erik Lamela in recent weeks.
It adds how Son signed a five-year contract when he moved to the Premier League from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and he has hit 26 goals in 89 games in that competition, as well as registering 11 assists.
It goes on to say how he has proved himself a valuable asset to the club, who are in turn keen to reward him with an improvement on his current terms, worth about £60,000 per week. Son, 25, is one of a number of key players likely to be in talks between now and the end of the campaign.
Christian Eriksen will have two years left on his £70,000-a-week deal come the end of the season , while Lamela, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen all have contracts which expire in the summer of 2019, although it is believed Spurs have the option to extend the Belgians’ deals by an extra year.
