Tottenham Hotspur fans have cause for optimism after beating the Premier League attendance record on Sunday according to premierleague.com

Our 4-1 dismantling of  Liverpool at Wembley  not only moved us joint 2nd behind second-placed Manchester United on goal difference alone, but it also brought us Premier League attendance record.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min scored in a 4-1 win in front of a crowd of 80,827 people at our temporary home, which in turn comfortably beat the previous attendance record set over 10 years ago at Old Trafford.

That match was between Manchester Utd and Blackburn Rovers on the 31st March 2007 which saw a crowd of 76,098 in attendance.

The eagle eyed Spurs fans amongst might have noticed a bit of an omen. Those who didn’t will be interested to know that Manchester United also won   4-1 at that day, and not just that, United had two English goalscorers (Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick), that day and a South Korean (Park Ji-sung) too.
Man Utd went on to regain the Premier League title from Chelsea that season. So a mere coincidence or is it written in the stars. We’d like to think so
