The Telegraph have revealed that Eric Dier, who has been overlooked by Ange Postecoglou so far this season, has now held a conversation with Daniel Levy about his future.
Dier, who had mostly been a regular in Tottenham’s starting eleven in recent years under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, has not featured in a single matchday squad for Spurs this season.
In fact, 18-year-old summer signing Ashely Phillips was named on the bench ahead of the England international during Spurs’ trip to Turf Moor last Saturday.
Daniel Levy calls Eric Dier in for a meeting
Dier, who is now into his tenth season at Tottenham, is said to have met with Levy to hold talks, according to The Telegraph.
The report states that the centre-back had a ‘frank conversation’ with the Spurs chairman, and there is no suggestion that there has been any sort of row or fallout.
The publication reveals that while the details of the meeting were kept private, the topic of conversation is likely to have been about the 29-year-old’s status in the squad and his future.

Given the long service that Dier has given Tottenham, it is understandable why Levy met with him personally to discuss the path forward. The topic of conversation would have been his future and whether the centre-back plans to leave on a free transfer next summer.
