It appears as if Guglielmo Vicario could be officially announced as a Tottenham player swiftly as Fabrizio Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the goalkeeper will fly to London soon to sign a contract with the North London club.
Vicario has emerged as one of the best goalkeepers in the Serie A since his switch to Empoli two years ago and even though he is yet to be capped by Italy, has been part of the last couple of squads picked by Roberto Mancini.
The 26-year-old now appears on the verge of a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Romano taking to social media to reveal that he is on his way to London to complete the move.
Vicario will fly to London soon for Spurs medical
The journalist explained that the Empoli star will have his medical tests before putting pen to paper on a contract with the Lilywhites.
He also revealed that while Tottenham have agreed to pay an initial fee of €19m (£16.3m) to Empoli for the goalkeeper, the deal also includes some performance-related add-ons.

With the Vicario deal now seemingly all but wrapped up, one would expect Tottenham to turn their attention to the attacking midfield and central defence roles.
If the club can conclude deals for James Maddison and Edmond Tapsoba within the next couple of weeks, that would represent an exceptional start to the transfer window.
