The Evening Standard have suggested that Chelsea could be the latest club to enter the race to sign Tottenham target David Raya.

It was reported by The Times last week that Spurs had struck an agreement on personal terms with Raya but it was explained that the North London club had no intention of meeting Brentford’s asking price of £40m for their number one.

However, a couple of days ago, Football Insider suggested that Manchester United could hijack Tottenham’s move for the Spaniard.

The outlet stated that the 27-year-old is ‘admired’ by the recruitment chiefs at Old Trafford, who are looking to bring in a goalkeeper who can offer competition for David De Gea.

It was alleged that Raya is viewed by the club as someone who fits Erik Ten Hag’s profile due to his ability to play out from the back under pressure.

If The Evening Standard’s latest update is to be believed, the Brentford number one is also on the radar of Chelsea.

The publication states that the Blues have now ended their interest in Inter Milan goalkeeper, Andre Onana, who was previously their top target, with Raya said to be one of the other alternatives on the West London club’s wishlist.

While it is not surprising that Raya is on the radars of both Chelsea and Manchester United, it does not appear as if he is the number one target for either club.

So, for the moment, Tottenham seem to have a relatively free run at the Spaniard but things could change quite quickly.
