Fichajes have claimed that Real Betis are eyeing a move for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the summer.
It came as a surprise when Lloris stayed at Spurs in the summer, with some reports revealing that the decision makers at Tottenham were perplexed that the Frenchman rejected several offers, including multiple ones from the Saudi Pro League (Evening Standard).
Multiple publications have claimed over the last couple of weeks (Telegraph and Football Insider) that the 36-year-old is expected to exit the North London club on a free transfer in January.
Real Betis alerted by Hugo Lloris’ availability
Fichajes have now stated that the possibility of snapping up a goalkeeper of Lloris’ experience on a free transfer appeals to Betis, who are allegedly on the lookout for a new shot-stopper.
It is explained that Manuel Pellegrini has not been satisfied with the level of Claudio Bravo, who is currently serving as the backup to Rui Silva, and wants the club to sign the former Tottenham captain.
The report explains that while Lloris is on the radar of many clubs, it is Betis who have shown ‘the greatest interest’ in the Frenchman so far.
Spurs Web Opinion
It remains to be seen if Lloris would accept a number two but realistically, the 36-year-old might not have any choice but to do so if he wants to continue at the top level.
