Guglielmo Vicario has taken to social media to thank the Spurs fans for the way they have welcomed him to the club and helped him settle.
It is fair to say that a section of the Tottenham fan base were not convinced by the club’s decision to pass up on David Raya and sign Vicario instead, with some perhaps feeling that the club simply settled for the cheaper option.

However, the Italian has shown in the first four Premier League games of the season just why he was rated by many to be one of the best goalkeepers in the Serie A over the last two years at Empoli.
Not only has the 26-year-old come up with some crucial saves but he has also impressed with his decision-making under pressure, helping the Lilywhites play out from the back.
Vicario sends thank you message to Tottenham fans
It was even reported by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold a couple of days ago that Postecoglou has asked the goalkeeper to be part of the club’s new leadership group.
Ahead of linking up with the Azzuri squad for the European Championship qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine, Vicario posted the following message on Instagram to Spurs fans:

Vicario has not only impressed with his shot-stopping and his distribution but he is also evidently quite vocal and seems to be a natural leader. The club’s decision to go for the Italian over Raya appears to have been vindicated.
