Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing up a potential deal for one of Pape Matar Sarr’s Metz teammates, Boubacar Traore, according to The Sun.
Spurs signed Sarr from the Ligue 1 side in the summer transfer window for a reported fee of €18m (£15m) plus bonuses, with the midfielder rejoining Metz on loan for the 2021/22 season.
However, if reports are to be believed, Tottenham could come calling for Sarr’s teammate Traore before long after the 20-year-old caught the eyes of the Lilywhite scouts.
Traore only made his debut for Metz in May 2021 but has become a regular in the side this season, appearing in eight of nine league games so far.
The starlet is reportedly in contention to play for Mali at the African Cup of Nations in 2022 and could even qualify for a UK visa if he gets a senior call-up.
Spurs Web Opinion:
If Tottenham rate him highly and can get him for a good price, get the deal done. However, these should be luxury signings as we need to get the necessary ones through the door first, like a playmaker and a striker.
