Tottenham Hotspur’s newest signing Pape Matar Sarr has taken to social media to express his delight after completing his move to the club.

Spurs confirmed yesterday that the 18-year-old had sealed his switch from Metz, and will remain on loan at the Ligue 1 outfit for the remainder of the current campaign.

The defensive midfielder played 25 times for Metz last season, scoring four times, and has played all three of their games so far this campaign (transfermarkt).

Sarr admitted that he was proud to have joined Tottenham, but insisted that he is focused on the job at hand at Metz this season.

Sarr became Spurs’ fourth arrival during the summer transfer window to date, joining Bryan Gil, Cristian Romero and goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini in making the move to North London.

The Senegalese was also linked with moves to Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea only for Spurs to secure one of the most exciting prospects in European football (Evening Standard).

A further season in Ligue 1 and the relative guarantee of regular first-team football will only benefit Sarr ahead of him linking up with Tottenham at the start of next season.
