Matteo Moretto has reported for Relevo that Tottenham have received an offer for Pape Matar Sarr from Espanyol, however, the Lilywhites are not currently considering letting the young midfielder leave.
The journalist added that both parties are continuing to work on it, which seems to imply there is some kind of wiggle room in Tottenham’s preference to keep the player.
Sarr has impressed under Antonio Conte since the restart of the campaign following the World Cup, even earning his full debut in the North London Derby against Arsenal. Despite the defeat, Sarr was arguably Tottenham’s one shining light on the day.
Multiple reports in recent weeks (La Citta di Salerno and CalcioMercato) also revealed that Salernitana had contacted Spurs over a potential loan deal. However, they were concerned that Conte could block the move and decide to keep Sarr for the rest of the season.
According to Moretto, that still seems to be Tottenham’s preference, although it sounds like one to keep an eye on over the next week.
El Espanyol quiere a Pape Matar Sarr y ya ha presentado una oferta oficial. De momento, el Tottenham no valora la posibilidad de dejarle salir, pero las partes siguen trabajando en ello. @relevo

Spurs Web Opinion:
I don’t think Spurs will be signing another central midfielder this month, so I can’t see them loaning Sarr out. A couple of injuries and the youngster would arguably be in the first team so it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
