Fanatik revealed that in conversations Galatasaray had with Tottenham regarding centre-back Victor Nelsson, the Turkish club enquired about the availability of Pape Matar Sarr.

Victor Nelsson has arguably emerged as the best central defender in Turkish football since his switch to Galatasaray in 2021 and it was reported by Skorer, (25/05/23 as relayed by Asist Anal) last week that his displays had caught Tottenham‘s attention.

The publication even alleged that Spurs had informed the Turkish club that they are now ready to pay the Denmark international’s €25m (£21.7m) release clause.

The same information has now been backed up by Fanatik, who have revealed in their latest update that Spurs have not only had a discussion with Galatasaray but also spoken with Nelsson’s representatives.

Interestingly, the outlet adds that during the meeting between the two clubs, the reigning Turkish champions also brought up the situation of Pape Matar Sarr.

The report states that Senegalese International is on Galatasaray’s radar ahead of the summer but it is not revealed whether Spurs are open to selling him this summer.

Although Sarr has shown some promise for Tottenham this season, he only had 467 minutes of action across all competitions in 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).

While I do not think Tottenham would consider selling Sarr, the club would likely want to loan out the 20-year-old.

However, I suspect they would want to send him to play in a higher-calibre competition than the Turkish Super Lig.

Perhaps a loan move to a newly promoted Premier League club like Sheffield United or Luton Town could be on the cards.
