The Daily Mail have revealed that Manchester City will not stop rumoured Tottenham target, Aymeric Laporte, from leaving the club this summer.

Laporte has been a key player for Pep Guardiola at City over the years but the centre-back has been restricted to just seven Premier League appearances so far this season (Transfermarkt).

90 min reported a couple of weeks ago that the centre-back is keen on playing regular football elsewhere and is thus expected to push for a move away from the Etihad Stadium.

The report claimed Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain have both expressed interest in the Spain international.

The Mail have now stated that Laporte is frustrated at his lack of game time at the Etihad and could be seeking a new challenge.

It is asserted that City do not want any unhappy players in their squad and would thus not stand in the former Athletic Bilbao star’s way.

Guardiola has allegedly taken the same stance with Laporte as he took with the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, who were all allowed to join the clubs they wanted to last summer.

While Laporte looks certain to leave City in the summer, he will have no shortage of options to choose from.

I cannot see the centre-back wanting to come to Tottenham if we do not have Champions League football to offer, which looks likely to be the case.
