The Telegraph journalist, Jason Burt, has insisted that Tottenham could land Julian Nagelsmann, but only if they go about things in the right way.
Nagelsmann is currently on gardening leave following his Bayern Munich exit but is up for grabs as an out-of-work manager.
Tottenham would have to convince the man himself to come to Hotspur Way, while also negotiating a compensation fee with Bayern as the German manager is still technically on their books (Pedro Almeida).
Jason Burt believes that Nagelsmann would be on Man City’s list if Pep Guardiola left tomorrow, which is a testament to how highly thought of he is in the world of football.
However, the journalist warned that Nagelsmann can be difficult to work with and demanding of his players, and Spurs would have to go about their approach in the right way to convince him to join.
That being said, Burt also believes it is entirely possible that Spurs ‘could get’ the young head coach.
He said on the Sky Sports Back Pages Podcast: “It will be a high-risk strategy because he’s a difficult man to work with and a demanding coach, but he could develop the younger players.
“Tottenham should bear in mind that if Pep Guardiola walks out of Manchester City tomorrow he would be on Man City’s list, so he is a coach who is very highly rated.
“He is available and if they go about it the right way they could get him.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
With Pochettino going to Chelsea, I think the only thing that will mend the anger and heartbreak of missing out on the Argentine is the appointment of Julian Nagelsmann. Anything short of that and Daniel Levy will have yet more outcries for his resignation.
