The Sun have revealed that Manchester City are now ready to rival the likes of Tottenham for Napoli centre-back Kim Min-Jae.
Kim has been a revelation since his switch to Naples last summer and the centre-back’s displays have reportedly caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Spurs.
Football Insider reported earlier this month that the North London club wish to see off competition from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool for the centre-back, and are hoping that Son Heung-min will be able to persuade his international teammate to come to N17.
However, The Sun now explain that Spurs will now also have to contend with competition from Manchester City for Kim, who has a release clause of £40m in his contract with Napoli.
The report alleges that Pep Guardiola is expected to seek reinforcements at centre-back since Aymeric Laporte will leave the Etihad, with the City boss said to be an ‘admirer’ of the South Korean.
The publication adds that while Napoli are keen to tie Kim down to a new contract in order to remove the release clause, the 26-year-old fancies a move to the Premier League.

I do not think Son’s powers of persuasion are likely to prove enough to convince Kim to reject the likes of Man City in order to move to Spurs.
The centre-back looks destined to win the Scudetto with Napoli this season and is likely to want to win more major trophies after tasting success.
