The World Cup might only be over for five minutes but preparations have started for the 2018/19 season with the squad travelling to the USA with the start of our International Champions Cup tournament just a couple of days away.
It is the clubs second foray into this tournament in as many years having last summer facing off against PSG, Roma and Manchester City and the club have again returned across the Atlantic this year.
The Spurs hierarchy are looking to expand our already huge presence in the USA particularly with the ten-year deal which is bringing NFL matches to our new stadium.
We will be without Harry Kane, Dele Alli, the Belgian contingent and World Cup winning captain Hugo Lloris as they are currently recovering following their exploits at this summer’s World Cup.
Many first-teamers such as Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura, Serge Aurier and Fernando Llorente have travelled as have youngsters like Brandon Austin, Anthony Georgiou, Oliver Skipp and Kaziah Sterling.
In terms of fixtures it all begins when we face Italian side Roma, for the second summer on the trot,on July 26th at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium
We then have a mouth watering fixture on July 29th when we face last season’s La Liga champions at the huge Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
The USA tour ends in Minnesota with Spurs taking on Serie A giants AC Milan at the US Bank Stadium on August the 1st.
Our final pre-season warm up is away at Girona, just seven days before the opening 2018/2019 Premier League fixture against Newcastle United.
