According to Spanish publication Nacional (as relayed by Football365), Tottenham Hotspur have tabled a €100m (£86m) to sign Real Madrid forward Rodrygo.
Rodrygo was a key part of Carlo Ancelotti’s set-up, with the versatile forward scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists across all competitions.
The Brazilian has started all three of Real Madrid’s matches so far this season but it has now emerged that Spurs have tested the La Liga giant’s resolve to hold on to the player.
Nacional claim that Daniel Levy is ‘obsessed’ with the idea of signing Rodrygo, so much so that he is willing to shatter Tottenham’s transfer record, with the Spurs chairman alleged to have offered €100m (£86m) for the forward.
Tottenham unlikely to succeed in Rodrygo pursuit
However, the report adds that it ‘seems like an impossible mission’ for Spurs to lure the 22-year-old away from the Santiago Bernabeu as Real Madrid cannot afford to lose any more attacking players and do not have time to secure a replacement for him.
The publication adds that Rodrygo himself has not shown any inclination to leave the Spanish capital this summer.

If there was any truth to this report, it will be confirmed by the likes of Romano and Ornstein soon, given their connections to various top agents working in the game.
If Spurs did really make such a big for Rodrygo, that indicates that the club are willing to go big on the right players, which potentially promises an exciting end to the transfer window.
