Football League World have revealed that out of favour Tottenham defender Djed Spence is attracting loan interest from both Southampton and Crystal Palace.
It appears as if Ange Postecoglou is happy with Emerson Royal and Pedro Porro as his options at right-back, with multiple outlets reporting over the last week that Tottenham are ready to offload Spence (Evening Standard).
The 23-year-old arrived at Spurs from Middlesbrough 12 months ago and struggled to get game time under Antonio Conte during the first half of last season before being loaned out to Rennes in January.
Spence set to leave on loan from Spurs again
FLW have now claimed that Spence’s Tottenham career is far from over as the North London club are only looking to loan out the right-back this summer.
It is alleged that the Lilywhites are looking for the right destination for the England Under-21 international, with Southampton fitting the profile since they are expected to play a possession-heavy brand of football under new boss Russell Martin.
However, the outlet adds that Palace are also interested in a temporary deal for Spence, who believes that he is ready for Premier League football.
Spurs Web Opinion
The priority for Tottenham should be to loan Spence out to a club where he is guaranteed regular game time. It is perhaps wishful thinking to expect the 23-year-old to play regularly for Palace when he could not even get consistent minutes for Rennes last season.
Spence has not been involved in either of Tottenham’s first two Premier League matches and desperately needs to head out to get his promising career back on track.
