The Guardian have revealed that Chelsea could now be about to enter the race to sign Tottenham target Marc Guehi following the injury to Wesley Fofana.
It has been widely reported for the last few months that Guehi is one of the centre-backs on Tottenham’s radar this summer.
The latest such update came on July 5 from London World, who claimed that the centre-back ticks ‘all the boxes’ for Spurs, given his age, homegrown status and Premier League experience.
The publication asserted that it would take a fee of around £60m to lure the England international away from Selhurst Park this summer, and added that Arsenal were also eyeing a move for the 23-year-old.
Chelsea could now enter the picture for Marc Guehi
The Guardian have now revealed that Chelsea could also consider re-signing Guehi after Wesley Fofana underwent surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
The report explains that the Blues could now be forced to enter the market for a centre-back and that they have the right to match bids from other clubs for the Palace star.
The outlet adds that neither Spurs nor Arsenal have made a move for the England international so far, although both clubs continue to monitor the player’s situation.

The one advantage Spurs could have over Arsenal and Chelsea is that they can convince Guehi that he would have a much better shot at being a regular starter in N17 than he would at either of those two clubs.
That will surely be taken into consideration by the 23-year-old, particularly with the European Championship now not far away.
