Clinton Morrison believes that Ivan Toney would fit in well in the current set-up at Tottenham Hotspur.
There has been a lot said and written about Toney’s future over the last few weeks, with several clubs thought to be eyeing a move for the striker in January when his ban lapses.
The Daily Express is one of several outlets that have reported over the last few weeks that the 27-year-old could be the subject of a three-way tussle between Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea in January.
The publication added that the striker has informed Thomas Frank that he wants to seek a new challenge and Brentford are already looking for a potential replacement.
A few days ago, The Daily Mirror suggested that Mikel Arteta is hopeful of convincing Toney to snub the likes of Spurs in favour of a switch to the Emirates.
Would Ivan Toney be a good fit for Tottenham?
Morrison believes that the England international would thrive at Tottenham as well as at their North London rivals.
The former Crystal Palace striker told The Sunday Mirror about the Brentford star: “I think he’s a good fit for someone like Tottenham or maybe even Arsenal.
“He would go there and lead the line because I think he’s the real deal. Not only does he score goals and link the play but he’s good in this own box as well defending corners.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Toney is one of those signings who is guaranteed to succeed, which is why is likely to cost a premium.
I do not expect Tottenham to get involved in the bidding war for the 27-year-old as the club have evidently decided to change their transfer strategy since Postecoglou arrived, with the Lilywhites now preferring younger, up-and-coming players.
