After coming from behind twice against Arsenal to emerge with a point, Tottenham now hold the Premier League record for having won the most points from losing positions in the competition’s history.

Spurs had already shown their powers of recovery on multiple occasions ahead of the North London Derby, coming from 2-1 down to salvage a point against Brentford while going on to win from losing positions against Burnley and Sheffield United.

Tottenham could have let their heads drop when they fell behind twice at the Emirates on Sunday, first to an own goal, then to a penalty, but they fought back to draw level on both occasions.

Tottenham are the Premier League comeback kings

The club have revealed that the point they got against Arsenal means that they have now won more points from losing positions than any other side in Premier League history.

Tottenham have now edged one point in front of Manchester United, who previously held the record of 427 points from losing positions.

The club also stated that in the first six league games of this season, they have won eight of their 14 points from losing positions, which amounts to 57 per cent.

While Postecoglou would prefer not to see his side go a goal down in the first place, this undoubtedly demonstrates the belief and character of the squad.

This stat of Tottenham winning more points from losing positions than any other side also punctures the ‘Spursy’ narrative of the club having a soft underbelly and clutching defeats from the jaws of victory.
