Tottenham Hotspur could battle London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea for the signing of Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez, and now, his manager Arne Slot has admitted his player could be on the move in January.

Many expected Tottenham to sign a new striker during the summer, given the high-profile departure of Harry Kane. The England captain left the club for Bayern Munich, leaving Spurs with a big goalscoring void to fill.

Spurs did not move for a new starting forward in the summer, however, with youngster Alejo Veliz the only signing in that department.

As it stands, Heung-min Son and Richarlison have stepped up to the plate and have contributed attacking returns to help Spurs remain unbeaten in the league so far this season.

However, that has not stopped the club from being linked with a number of new attackers as eyes already start to turn to the January transfer window.

Santiago Gimenez to leave Feyenoord in January?

It seems Feyenoord forward, Santiago Gimenez has been watched by scouts from Tottenham, Arsenal, and Chelsea of late (90Min).

Now, his boss, Arne Slot, has spoken on the matter of that January transfer window and whether he can keep hold of his star striker.

He told ESPN (27/09/2023): “He is doing well. That cannot be denied. The great thing about Feyenoord is that, last summer, we were able to spend money on replacements. So we have a broad bench, also in case one leaves later.

“It is not yet January. I do not know whether [Gimenez] is planning to leave in January. But you never know. In any case, we already have a very good striker in [Ayase] Ueda.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Santiago Gimenez is on fire for Feyenoord right now and his attacking returns are the kind of numbers that will no doubt make big clubs pay attention. I would be pretty happy to see Spurs making a move for this player, and I think he would be a great fit for our system.
