The Independent have revealed that Mauricio Pochettino still has some regrets about Tottenham not revamping the squad back in the summer of 2017.

Spurs had fallen just short of the Premier League title in the 2016-17 season for the second time in a row, finishing the campaign with a club-record tally of 86 points. Unfortunately, the Lilywhites have never quite managed to get back to those heights.

Pochettino regrets not getting his Spurs revamp

While Pochettino did take Tottenham to a Champions League final in 2019, the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool swiftly pulled away from Spurs in the league, with the club not being able to claw back the gap.

The Independent have revealed that sources close to Pochettino state that the current Chelsea boss still looks at his time at Tottenham and wonders ‘what if’.

It is alleged that the Argentine has particular regrets over the summer window of 2017 and feels that was time for the club to undergo a massive squad revamp.
