According to a report from La Repubblica (as relayed by FC Inter 1908), Inter Milan now expect Premier League clubs to come calling for Simone Inzaghi who was previously mooted as a target for Tottenham.
A month and a half after Antonio Conte‘s exit from Spurs, we appear to be no closer to finding out who is likely to take over as the next head coach.
With Tottenham distancing themselves from Julian Nagelsmann this week, reports now indicate that Luis Enrique and Arne Slot are among the leading contenders for the role (Daily Mail).
It was previously reported by Il Messaggero (via Citta Celeste) two weeks ago that Spurs are also ‘vigilant’ on Inzaghi.
La Repubblica have now talked up the chances of the Italian moving to the Premier League this summer, stating that ‘no one would be surprised’ if English clubs come calling for the 47-year-old.
The report explains that while Inter are confident for the time being that their head coach will remain put, his reputation is said to be growing in light of the team’s impressive run in the Champions League.
Although the outlet does not name Tottenham specifically, it is suggested that clubs from England could come calling for Inazghi soon.
However, La Repubblica point out that the Italian does not have a mastery of English, which he would have to rectify if he is to take a Premier League job this summer.

Inazghi has done a good job at Inter since taking over from Conte and the current Spurs squad would be a good fit for him tactically since he prefers playing with three at the back.
However, he certainly does not fit the profile of a candidate that the North London club are after as his sides are not known for playing adventurous football.
There has been nothing concrete to suggest that the 47-year-old is on Tottenham’s shortlist to replace Conte.
