The agent of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has been discussing the player’s future amid reports linking him with a move to England.
Onana joined Inter Milan on a free transfer from Ajax last summer and has enjoyed a fantastic season with the Italian giants, establishing himself as one of the most accomplished keepers in Europe.
The 27-year-old has conceded just 30 goals in 38 appearances this term (Transfermarkt) and has been instrumental in helping Inter reach the Champions League final.
Recent reports have named Onana as one of the goalkeepers on Tottenham‘s shortlist as the North London side look to replace their current number one Hugo Lloris (90Min).
According to Football Insider, however, incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino also has Onana in his sights as he looks to strengthen in the goalkeeping area, too.
With rumours rife surrounding the Cameroonian’s future, the player’s agent has now spoken on the matter and insisted Onana is happy where he is, for the time being at least.
Albert Botines told CM (via Tutto Mercato Web): “Transfer rumours are normal at this stage, but I prefer not to talk about it because it’s very early and now the boy he is focused only on the field.
“We have a five-year contract with Inter, he has another four years on his contract and now he’s focused only on the Serie A final and the Champions League final.
“He still has a long contract, he’s calm. He is very happy, he plays in the strongest team in Italy.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Andre Onana is a brilliant goalkeeper and would be an incredible addition to the Spurs squad as our new number-one.
There’s no doubt he has to focus on the next games for Inter for now, but hopefully we can take advantage of Inter’s precarious financial situation and make something happen in the summer.
