Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Inter Milan have reached out to Tottenham Hotspur about a potential move for Japhet Tanganga.
The report states that Inter have now made ‘initial contacts’ over Tanganga, who is surplus to requirements at Spurs, but the Serie A club are yet to make a concrete move for the Tottenham man.
It is explained that the Nerazzurri like the 24-year-old’s profile since he is capable of operating as a centre-back and a right-back.
Spurs are open to Tanganga loan with option to buy
Di Marzio adds that Tottenham are ready to loan Tanganga out with an option to buy the defender, which is not a formula that the North London club were previously open to.
However, the journalist adds that as things stand, the Spurs academy graduate is just one of several names on Inter’s wishlist, with the Italian club expected to make some ‘evaluations’ over the coming days.
This report comes a day after Alasdair Gold revealed via Football.London that Tanganga is one of five defenders Tottenham are now listening to offers for, along with Joe Rodon, Davinson Sanchez, Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon.
Spurs Web Opinion
Tanganga is represented by an Italian agent in Roberto De Fanti and his profile would be appreciated by quite a few Serie A clubs, which is why I think there is a good chance that the 24-year-old ends up in Italy this summer.
However, not a lot of Italian clubs have money to spend, which is why it might have to be a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy.
