Fichajes.net journalist, Ekrem Konur, has claimed that Liverpool are set to make a big offer for Brighton midfielder, Yves Bissouma, who was previously alleged to be on Tottenham’s radar.

While Tottenham had a busy summer transfer window, the club were unable to strengthen their central midfield department, with Metz teenager Pape Sarr being loaned back to the Ligue 1 club for the season.

The North London club were certainly linked with a whole host of names during the summer including the likes of Ruben Neves, Franck Kessie and Bissouma.

Spurs are not the only club that are thought to have their eyes on the Brighton star, with Manchester United and Liverpool also being credited with an interest in the 25-year-old.

If Konur’s latest update is to be believed, it is Liverpool who are primed to snap up Bissouma when the transfer window reopens in January.

The journalist revealed that Jurgen Klopp has wanted to bring the Mali international to Anfield for ‘a long time’ and that the Reds are ready to meet Brighton’s demands to get a deal over the line.

Spurs Web Opinion

We often see just one or two smart additions transforming certain teams (like Man Utd with Bruno Fernandes). I believe that is the sort of impact that a Kessie or Bissouma type of player can have on the current Spurs side.

Our starting eleven will suddenly look a lot more formidable and we could even be in with a shout of making the top four. However, getting either player will prove difficult as they will likely have plenty of suitors across Europe.
