The whole Tottenham Hotspur squad are in great form at the moment, but Micah Richards believes Yves Bissouma is not getting the credit he deserves for his early season displays.
Since Ange Postecoglou took over at Tottenham, the fortunes and attitudes of the players in his squad have transformed very quickly.
The Lilywhites are enjoying an unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign and currently find themselves in the top four after the draw against Arsenal on Sunday.
Players like Heung-min Son, James Maddison, and Destiny Udogie are shining for Spurs so far this season. With attacking football, positive results, and smiles on faces, it seems everything is rosy at Tottenham right now.
While Maddison, who provided two assists in the North London derby, has been attracting most of the attention and praise this season, the efforts of the whole team have not gone unnoticed.
Richards thinks Yves Bissouma needs more praise
In a recent discussion on The Rest is Football podcast, Micah Richards came to the defence of Yves Bissouma and claimed the midfielder has been the best player for Spurs this term.
Co-host Gary Lineker said: “I thought early in the game, he gave it away a couple of times when Arsenal were pressing so high, but after that, he was all over them.”
Richard added: “The thing with Bissouma is that because Maddison has started so well, a lot of people are forgetting what Bissouma has done this season. He has probably been their best, most consistent player this season.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Yves Bissouma has been in outstanding form so far and finally looks to be back to his best after a difficult season last year. If he continues at this rate, he will only continue to earn plaudits and could have a shout at being among the very best in the league.
