Tottenham fans were treated to an unexpected and rather under-the-radar Rodrigo Bentancur update this afternoon, with Sky Sports’ Football Daily posting training videos.
With the international players back from their respective duties, the focus of the videos was on Brennan Johnson’s first outing with his teammates and Heung-min Son training despite injury worries.
However, some eagle-eyed Spurs fans would have noticed a certain Mr Rodrigo Bentancur taking part in outside drills for the first time since his ACL injury sustained against Leicester City back in February.
Bentancur is back out on the grass for the first time
Ange Postecoglou recently revealed that Bentancur is eager to get back out onto the pitch, but is not expected to actually return until November.
It appears the Uruguayan has at least convinced the medical department to let him take part in some basic warm-up drills with the rest of the Spurs squad.

Spurs Web Opinion:
Having Bentancur in that three-man midfield to compete with Maddison, Sarr, and Bissouma instantly makes Spurs so much stronger. I actually think he can play in any of the three positions too, which is handy for Postecoglou.
