Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Bryan Gil is now available for selection for the first time this season after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Gil has been out since the start of pre-season but Gold stated that the winger is expected to be available for selection immediately after stepping up his recovery.
The journalist confirmed what had been reported already about James Maddison, stating that Spurs are confident he will be fit to play against Liverpool.
He also added that Brennan Johnson has been training on the grass this week after coming off with a tight hamstring against Arsenal, with the 22-year-old said to have been closely monitored by the club this week.
Tottenham are trying to get their players back soon
Gold explains that Rodrigo Bentancur has now been ‘gradually increasing’ his involvement in first-team training sessions and hopes to be back in action before November.
He also provided some positive news on Ryan Sessegnon’s injury, revealing that the 23-year-old has now resumed some light training following his hamstring surgery and could be back in action in a ‘few weeks’.
However, Gold does not provide much clarity on Giovani Lo Celso’s recovery, simply stating that the Argentine is hoping to be involved ‘sooner rather than later’.
Spurs Web Opinion
It sounds like Maddison is expected to start against Liverpool tomorrow while Gil might make the bench for the first time this season.
I would be surprised if Postecoglou risks Johnson, particularly given that he has Solomon at his disposal. The Israeli international might quite enjoy coming up against Trent Alexander-Arnold in one vs one situations.
