Football Transfers have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could face competition from their North London rivals, Arsenal, in their pursuit of Wolfsburg centre-back Micky van de Ven.
With Tottenham having addressed two priority positions through the acquisitions of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison over the last week, the Lilywhites are now seemingly turning their attention to a left-sided centre-back.
Fabrizio Romano took to social media on Wednesday to reveal that Van de Ven has emerged as one of the top targets for Spurs, with Ange Postecoglou’s men alleged to have opened talks over a deal for the 22-year-old.
The journalist asserted that the Netherlands Under-21 international had expressed his desire to make a switch to N17.
Spurs and Arsenal may fight over Micky Van de Ven
Football Transfers have now revealed that it is not just Spurs who are interested in Van de Ven but also Mikel Arteta’s men, who are said to be keeping an eye on the centre-back.
However, the report adds that as things stand, Spurs are at the front of the queue to snap up the Wolfsburg star.

It will be interesting to see who Tottenham prioritise between Tapsoba and Van de Ven.
My sense is that the Leverkusen star is the Lilywhites’ top target but they have turned their attention to the Dutchman since they are not happy with the price quoted for the 24-year-old by Wolfsburg.
