Tottenham forward Dejan Kulusevski has admitted his best position is at right wing, his personal favourite is number ten, but hinted he could play as a wing-back at some point in the future.
Joining Spurs from Juventus in January, Kulusevski has enjoyed an excellent start to his career in North London, cementing a place in Antonio Conte’s line-up.
The 22-year-old emerged as a vital player in the second half of last season, tallying five goals and eight assists (Transfermarkt) to help Spurs secure a return to the Champions League on the final day of the season.
Playing on the right of a dynamic front three alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, Kulusevski has already been deployed in a plethora of positions in his young career, ranging from central midfield to a second striker (Transfermarkt).
The Sweden international has since revealed he can see himself playing as a No. 10 but admitted his most productive position has been on the right wing. He also did not rule out the prospect of playing as a right-wing-back down the line.
Kulusevski said (via Football.London): “It’s a very good question, I’ve been thinking about this all my whole life.
“I always thought of me being a No 10, I still think I am, but my best results as a football player have always come being a right winger, so I don’t know!
“In the future, we will see where I’ll be. Yeah I can probably play wing-back too. It’s football, you want to help a good team, you want to play, enjoy, work hard and have fun.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Kulusevski has surprised plenty of people at Spurs so far and he seems to have been playing without fear. He is quick, strong and good with the ball at his feet which can potentially make him quite versatile if he needs to be played elsewhere.
