Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed that Alfie Devine will be joining up with Port Vale this season on loan for the entire campaign.
Port Vale currently play in League One and finished 18th out of 24 last season, but have started the new campaign well with seven points from four games, just two off the league leaders.
Alfie Devine joins Port Vale on season-long loan
Alfie Devine will likely slot into the attacking line-up, as he is predominantly a creative midfielder, while also being capable of playing off either wing when needed.
Ange Postecoglou used the Spurs youngster as a right-winger in pre-season and Devine impressed with his 45-minute cameo against West Ham United.
Devine was also part of the Young Lions squad that won the European Under-19 Championship last year, and he will be looking to kick on and earn regular minutes this season away from Spurs.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I’m a little surprised that Devine didn’t get a move to one of the League One sides expecting to fight for the title this season as I want to see him in a very free-flowing, attacking line-up. However, perhaps Spurs have looked at Port Vale’s style and believe it is a good fit for the youngster.
