Darren Ambrose is not sure whether Richarlison will ever come good at Tottenham and insisted that Ange Postecoglou could soon have no choice but to leave the forward out of the team.
Postecoglou has backed Richarlison from the start of the season, with the Australian being quite complimentary of the Brazilian’s work rate while backing him to come good in front of goal (Goal).
However, the 26-year-old has continued to struggle to hit the back of the net, with Postecoglou moving him to the left and playing Son Heung-min through the middle during the last two matches.
Richarlison missed a couple of gilt-edged chances during Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Luton Town two weeks ago and his performance for the Selecao against Venezuela last week did not inspire much confidence either.
How long will Postecoglou stick with Richarlison?
Ambrose has now said it will be difficult for Postecoglou to back the striker if he continues missing easy opportunities.
The pundit talkSPORT about Richarlison: “He didn’t play a lot last season. And this season, Ange has started with him. You can see Ange trying to back him and say, ‘look he’s trying to get in the positions, he’ll come good’. I don’t know anymore.
“I backed him and I’ve said ‘he’ll score goals because he does get the chance, when he stops getting the chances that’s when you’ve got to worry’.
“He can’t keep getting the chances and keep missing, because there comes a point – and it has happened – that you get dragged or you don’t play anymore.”

Richarlison has two goals and an assist in his last four matches, despite starting just two of those, which is why Postecoglou will continue backing him.
The injuries to Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic also mean that the Australian does not have too many other options to turn to.
