The Independent’s Miguel Delaney has now claimed that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has now emerged as one of Tottenham’s top managerial candidates.

Spurs were hit with a major blow earlier today when Arne Slot, who was seemingly the North London club’s top candidate, confirmed his intention to remain at Feyenoord (Dan Kilpatrick), with reports indicating that the Dutchman has now agreed a contract extension at De Kuip (Fabrizio Romano).

90 min revealed a few hours ago that the reason the deal fell through was because of the £17.5m compensation package that the Eredivisie club were demanding for Slot and his assistant coaches, which Tottenham were not willing to pay.

Delaney has now taken to social media to reveal that Postecoglou has now emerged as one of the candidates for the hot seat at N17 after the Slot move collapsed.

The journalist insisted that the Lilywhites hierarchy are now ‘strongly considering’ a move for the Australian, who has led Celtic to back-to-back domestic doubles.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Postecoglou comes across as a fantastic person and seems to possess excellent man-management skills, I am hugely sceptical about whether he would be able to cut it in the Premier League.

Appointing the 57-year-old would be a major gamble as he could well be out of his depth when he comes against the best managers in the game.
