The Standard have revealed that Ange Postecoglou is experimenting with an ‘NFL-style approach’ to coaching at Hotpsur Way.
It is explained that Postecoglou has given different members of his coaching staff responsibilities over different aspects of the team, much like you see in the NFL.
Matt Wells and Mile Jedinak look after the defensive organisation while Ryan Mason is responsible for the attacking side, with Chris Davies overseeing the entire sessions.
As a result, the players often hear relatively little from Postecoglou throughout the week, with the Australian even trusting his staff to lead some meetings so that the players do not get bored of his voice.
Ange Postecoglou is taking an NFL approach at Spurs
The report states that, unlike his predecessors, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, Postecoglou does not dominate the training ground.
However, even though he might take a backseat during the sessions, the report says that there is no doubt that the 58-year-old is the most important person at the club.

Postecoglou’s attempt to be a peripheral voice during the training sessions and meetings is evidently designed to maintain a level of aura with the players so that when he does address the squad directly, the messages are even more powerful.
