Alan Brazil has said that Daniel Levy should not have made it public that Tottenham Hotspur have a buy-back clause for Kane.
When Levy was asked in the fan forum held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday if Spurs have a buy-back clause for Kane, he simply responded with ‘of course’, without providing any details.
Since then, it has been revealed by several outlets, including The Daily Mail, that Tottenham have a right-to-match clause, which means that they would be able to match any offer that Bayern accept from another English club for the striker.
However, the outlet added that Kane is unlikely to return to the Lilywhites as his relationship with Levy is now strained after the 61-year-old made the striker’s move to the Bavarian club quite difficult in the summer.
It has since been suggested by GiveMeSport that Kane would be open to moving to a different European club after his adventure in Munich or ending his career in the MLS.
Should Daniel Levy have talked about Kane buy-back?
Brazil believes that a lot of variables could change for the England captain and Tottenham over the coming years, which is why Levy should have kept quiet about the clause.
The pundit told talkSPORT Breakfast (20/09/23 at 6:25 am): “Why come out with that if you aren’t going to tell them when it is? What if he (Kane) loves it and stays five years?
“What if Tottenham go backwards? At the moment, under Ange, they are doing well. What if they don’t win anything? He might like the Black Forest down there. His family might enjoy it, so don’t try to summarise it.
“And what if Haaland leaves? Does he go to Manchester City or Manchester United? Or Spurs?”
Spurs Web Opinion
Just because Levy revealed that Spurs have a clause does not mean he is saying that Kane is likely to return to N17. So, I fail to understand Brazil’s point.
I do feel that the 30-year-old will return to England before the end of his career but it remains to be seen which club he will end up at.
