Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Metz for the transfer of midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.
Sarr showed plenty of promise after breaking into the Metz first team in November of last year and the youngster has made a strong start to the new Ligue 1 campaign.
Reports emerged last week that Spurs had stepped up their interest in the 18-year-old, who is capable of playing in a variety of roles in the middle of the park.
Some sources subsequently suggested that the teenager was valued by Metz at around £12-13million.
Romano has now given his eagerly anticipated ‘here we go’ to Sarr’s proposed move to Tottenham.
The journalist revealed that Spurs had agreed on a fee of €15m (£12.8m) with the Ligue 1 club for the Senegal international and also verbally agreed on personal terms with the player.
Romano added that Tottenham are open to loaning Sarr back to Metz for the season.

Like Bryan Gil, Sarr is a signing for the future rather than for the present. So loaning him back to Metz would probably be the right move for his development.
Snapping up the 18-year-old may not rule out Spurs landing another central midfielder before the window closes, particularly if the club manage to find buyers for both Sissoko and Ndombele.
