When asked about his ambitions for the season ahead, Pape Matar Sarr has not only suggested that Spurs should improve on last year, but should also look to win the Premier League title.
Signed from Metz in the summer of 2021, Pape Matar Sarr would remain with the French side for the season to gain experience before returning to London.
The youngster flourished in France, and was retained by Antonio Conte for the 2022/23 campaign.
However, Sarr was used as a bit-part player by the Italian, and was only handed 14 first-team appearances for Tottenham last term, racking up just 466 minutes on the pitch in total (Transfermarkt).
Sarr did impress many with his performances, rare as they may be. The 20-year-old played with a maturity beyond his years, and was more than comfortable asserting his dominance in the middle of the park.
The Senegal star is now catching the eye under Ange Postecoglou and has shown plenty of promise in pre-season.
Sarr wants to win the Premier League title with Spurs
The youngster has been speaking to The Athletic ahead of the new season, and when asked about his goals this year, Sarr revealed he has lofty ambitions
Detailing his aims for the upcoming campaign, Sarr said: “Obviously to create a better season than last year, when we finished outside the Champions League places. We want to finish well in the Premier League and hopefully win it, why not win it?”

You have to love the ambition there. Sadly, I can’t see us winning the title for a very long time, especially with the way Manchester City are continuing to strengthen their team.
It will be very difficult for any side to catch them this year. Any kind of improvement on last year for Spurs would be a huge achievement this season.
