Manchester Evening News have revealed that Manchester City have accepted a bid from Al-Nassr for rumoured Tottenham target, Aymeric Laporte.
Laporte has only one year left on his contract at the Etihad and has been linked with a move to Tottenham right through the summer.
The latest such report came from The Daily Mirror, who claimed on August 5 that Spurs were continuing to eye a late move for the 29-year-old centre-back, who was also said to be on the radars of Arsenal and Aston Villa.
The report alleged that City valued the 29-year-old at £30m and the Premier League champions preferred to sell the player to a foreign club over an English side.
Al-Nassr’s offer accepted for Aymeric Laporte
If MEN’s latest update is to be believed, City seemingly have their wish, with the club now having accepted Al-Nassr’s latest offer for Laporte.
The outlet claims that the centre-back has been open to leaving the Manchester club from the start of the summer but there has been a shortage of interest in his services.
The Saudi Pro League club are now allegedly discussing terms with the Spain international with the hope of convincing him to make the switch to Riyadh.
Spurs Web Opinion
This news could affect Tottenham in more ways than one as Laporte’s potential move to Al-Nassr could mean that the Saudi club end their interest in Clement Lenglet.
That would, in turn, put Barca in a difficult position and likely leave them with no choice but to sell the Frenchman to Spurs for a cut-price fee.
