Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez is someone that Tottenham really like but the Nerazzurri have no intention of letting the Argentine leave.

Since Harry Kane completed his long-awaited move to Bayern Munich on Saturday, plenty of names have been mooted as potential replacements for the 30-year-old at Spurs.

Gent’s Gift Orban is alleged to be near the top of the Lilywhites’ wishlist, while the Premier League side are also thought to have explored moves for Lille’s Jonathan David (CaughtOffside).

Reports linking Montpellier’s Elye Wahi with a move to Tottenham show no signs of dissipating (Foot Mercato) while a few Italian outlets have also suggested that Romelu Lukaku is on the North London club’s radar (Calciomercato.it), although this has been rubbished by the likes of Alasdair Gold.

Tottenham are looking at Lautaro Martinez

Jacobs has now also denied suggestions that Spurs could move for Lukaku but he did add that the Belgian’s former Inter teammate, Martinez, is someone the club have had their eye on.

The journalist told CaughtOffside: “Spurs must now find a replacement (for Kane). Talk of that being Romelu Lukaku has been dismissed.

“Before Fabio Paratici left Spurs, the most likely target if Kane left was Lille’s Jonathan David. An approach still can’t be ruled out. Spurs also like Lautaro Martinez, but Inter simply don’t want to sell.”

Spurs Web Opinion

With the Romelu Lukaku and Mehdi Taremi rumours being dismissed over the last few days, it does appear as if Gift Orban, Elye Wahi and Jonathan David are the three names at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Harry Kane. All indications suggest that Spurs are prioritising a move for the Gent star at the moment.
