Charlie Eccleshare has reported that Japhet Tanganga’s loan move to Torino has now hit a dead end, but the Spurs defender still has other options to secure a summer move.
Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that Torino had opened talks with Tottenham over a deal to sign Japhet Tanganga.
Di Marzio explained that Torino are on the lookout for a central defender to replace Alessandro Buongiorno, who is now on the verge of joining Atalanta.
The journalist alleged that Il Toro had identified Tanganga as the man to fill the void and had opened conversations with Spurs over a late deal for the 24-year-old.
Torino were talking to the North London club over an initial loan deal for the player with an option to make it permanent next summer.
Still options for Japhet Tanganga this summer
However, they are not the only Italian side credited with an interest in Tanganga, with journalist Ben Jacobs telling the Last Word on Spurs podcast last week that Inter Milan also have their eye on the Tottenham academy graduate.
Jacobs added at the time said that the Spurs star was also on the radars of Luton Town and Sevilla.
Spurs Web Opinion
I suspect several Italian clubs will explore a late deal for Tanganga if Tottenham are willing to loan out the centre-back. I can see a bidding war emerging for both him and Davinson Sanchez over the next 48 hours.
