Gianluca Di Mazio has revealed that Inter Milan have now opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal to sign Tanguy Ndombele on loan.
On Wednesday morning, it was reported by Fabrizio Romano that Genoa had struck an agreement with Spurs to sign Ndombele on loan for the season.
However, it subsequently emerged a few hours later that the Frenchman was not convinced about moving to the Luigi Ferraris Stadium as he preferred joining a club who are in the Champions League (Daily Mail).
Inter Milan now making a move for Tanguy Ndombele
If Di Marzio’s latest update is to be believed, Ndombele might get his wish, with Inter now alleged to have asked Spurs for information about the player after he turned down Genoa.
The journalist adds that the San Siro would be a ‘welcome destination’ for the 26-year-old ahead of Friday evening’s transfer deadline.
Di Marzio explains that Inter are still yet to make a final decision on whether to pursue ‘a physical midfielder’ like the Tottenham man or more of a natural playmaker such as Sassuolo’s Maxime Lopez.

It was always pretty clear that several Italian clubs would try to sign Ndombele late in the transfer window as the Frenchman showed some real glimpses of quality for Napoli last season.
However, it looks like Tottenham will not get their wish of a permanent sale, with the midfielder seemingly about to head out on loan again.
