L’Equipe have revealed that Hugo Lloris could be set for a shock move to Real Madrid following Thibaut Courtois’ injury.
It has been an open secret since the start of the summer that Lloris‘ 11-year spell at Tottenham is expected to come to an end this transfer window, with the North London club signing Guglielmo Vicario to take over the gloves from the Frenchman.
However, with just weeks left until the window slams shut, the Tottenham captain is still yet to find a new club.
Real Madrid could look at Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris
If L’Equipe’s latest update is to be believed, Lloris has now emerged as a shock target for Real Madrid.
Los Blancos are expected to be without Courtois for several months after the Belgian ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and the club are thought to be on the lookout for a replacement since they do not believe their number two Andrei Lounine is ready to make the step up.
The report names Lloris as one of five options that the La Liga giants have their eye on, alongside David De Gea, Keylor Navas, Yassine Bounou, and Kevin Trapp.
Spurs Web Opinion
Lloris has evidently been on the decline for the last 12 to 18 months, which is why I do not think Real Madrid will consider a move for the Frenchman. I still think that the 36-year-old is likely to return to Ligue 1 before the transfer window slams shut.
