Football.London have provided their weekly update on how the out-on-loan Tottenham Hotspur stars are getting along, and it is not good news for Kion Etete.
After a slow start to the campaign, Etete has been on fire in front of goal for Northampton town since opening his account in the 3-0 win over Stevenage last month.
The striker scored yet again in Northampton’s 2-1 win over Oldham Athletic last week, which took his tally for the season to six goals in all competitions.
However, Football.London have revealed the 20-year-old had to come off only 20 minutes into the clash against Leyton Orient on Saturday due to a hamstring problem.
Speaking about Etete’s injury, Northampton boss Jon Brady said: “We lost Kion early in the game.
“The doctor has assessed him and he has a bit of pain in that hamstring at the moment but as you saw, we brought him off as early as we could because we didn’t want to take any risks with Kion – but he’s another one to add to the list!
“I haven’t had time to let the dust settle so I’m yet to catch up with Jon but hopefully he can get through a few sleepless nights and we can get him back. We’ve got a little break now so hopefully, a few injuries clear up, but we’ll have to wait and see.”
Meanwhile, Football.London reveal that Pape Matar Sarr continues to be in and out of the Metz starting eleven.
The midfielder once again dropped to the bench for this weekend’s clash against Nice, getting just 26 minutes as his side registered a 1-0 win.
The report reveals that Cameron Carter-Vickers continues to be a fixture in Ange Postecoglou’s starting eleven, featuring in Celtic’s 2-1 at home on Sunday as well as their 3-2 loss against Bayern Leverkusen in the Europa League last week.
Meanwhile, after being missing the previous two matches due to “Covid-19 protocols”, Troy Parrott was back in action for MK Dons this week, coming on as a late substitute as they beat Morecambe 4-0.

Anytime there is hamstring trouble for a player, it is usually heart in mouth time while the damage is being assessed. Etete has been in brilliant form for the last month and it will be a huge shame if he is sidelined as a result of the injury.
