According to Corriere della Sera (26/07/22 edition – as relayed by MilanNews.it), Tottenham Hotspur will not include an option to buy in any loan deal for Pape Matar Sarr this summer.
Antonio Conte and his coaching staff are getting their first look at Sarr during pre-season, with the midfielder having been loaned back to Metz for the 2021/22 campaign after Tottenham signed him from the Ligue 1 club last summer.
The Evening Standard reported earlier this month that Conte is set to decide whether to keep the Senegal international in the Tottenham first team or to loan the midfielder out this summer.
Gianluca Di Marzio revealed last week that AC Milan had enquired about the availability of the 20-year-old during their talks with Fabio Paratici regarding Japhet Tanganga.
Corriere della Sera have now backed up that claim, stating that Rosenerri’s interest in the Tottenham midfielder has now been ‘confirmed’.
However, the publication explains that the North London club will not agree to loan Sarr out to the San Siro with an option to buy the midfielder next summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
There is no reason for Spurs to include an option to buy in a loan deal for Sarr, given the 20-year-old’s potential. I personally believe that the midfielder would benefit more from being loaned to a Championship club, where he would play regularly, rather than joining a club like Milan.
