Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are no longer prepared to offload midfielder Pape Matar Sarr this summer.
Matar Sarr made Spurs’ matchday squad for the first time during the club’s trip to Nottingham Forest on Sunday but the midfielder was an unused substitute, with the Lilywhites emerging 2-0 winners.
Fabrizio Romano revealed last week that Tottenham were looking to loan out the 19-year-old before the transfer window closes and were ‘confident’ of finding the right move for the youngster.
Romano further added that several Italian clubs were showing interest in the Senegal international.
However, if Di Marzio’s latest update is to be believed, signing Sarr has now become ‘complicated’ for Serie A clubs, with Spurs changing their stance on the midfielder.
The journalist stated that Rodrigo Bentancur has sustained a blow to his head during Tottenham’s win at the City Ground and Antonio Conte’s men have subsequently decided to take Sarr off the market.

Let’s hope that the Bentancur’s head blow was not serious and that Spurs have decided to keep hold of Sarr just as a precaution. The fact that the club are still not completely sure about when Oliver Skipp will be back to 100 per cent, might have also contributed to the decision to retain Sarr.
