Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could reignite their pursuit of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic following Harry Kane’s departure.
With Kane now having sealed his move to Bayern, the focus of Spurs fans shifts to the club’s pursuit of a potential replacement for the 30-year-old.
The Athletic reported this week that Tottenham have been engaged in succession planning in the event of the England captain’s departure for the last year.
It was explained that the club have decided it would be better to bring in a couple of forward options to aid Ange Postecoglou’s fluid frontline rather than signing one big-name replacement.
Spurs have considered Vlahovic as Kane replacement
However, if Gazzetta’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs have considered a move for one big-name centre-forward in the form of Vlahovic.
The report reveals that the Lilywhites monitored the Serb’s situation last month but called off their pursuit when it seemed like Kane would stay.
With Tottenham’s record goalscorer now having left, it is alleged that the Premier League side could once more turn towards Vlahovic.
However, the publication adds that the North London club would have to pay a whopping €80m (£69.1m) to prize the 23-year-old away from the Allianz Stadium.

Vlahovic is a talented player but it would make no sense to spend anywhere close to £70m on him as there is no guarantee that he would succeed in the Premier League.
It would be much more prudent to sign an up-and-coming striker like Gift Orban and spend the bulk of the Kane money to secure Ivan Toney in January.
