CalcioMercato indicate that Massimiliano Allegri’s decision to start Andrea Cambiaso in Juventus’ first two matches of the season was intended as a clear message to the left-back’s suitors, including Tottenham.

Juventus signed Cambiaso from fellow Serie A side Genoa last summer, with the Old Lady deciding to loan him out to Bologna for the 2022-23 season.

The versatile two-footed full-back was one of the mainstays in the Bologna backline last season and his performances allegedly caught Spurs’ eye.

Last month, we relayed a report from Sky Sport Italia (13/07/23 – via Mondo Napoli), which claimed that the North London club had enquired about the availability of the 23-year-old.

Tuttosport also subsequently claimed that both Tottenham and Forest were keen on the Italy Under-21 international, who was valued by the Old Lady at €20m’ (£17.1m).

Allegri wants to keep Cambiaso at Juventus

CalcioMercato have now also named Liverpool along with Spurs and Forest as Cambiaso’s admirers but they explain that Juve do not have any intention to part ways with him.

This is because the Italian has now become Allegri’s first-choice at left-back role ahead of Filip Kostic.

In fact, it is said that the Bianconeri boss’ decision to start the player against Udinese and Bologna was intended as a message to the aforementioned three Premier League sides.

Spurs Web Opinion

Every Juventus player, including Cambiaso, has a price, given the financial situation that the Serie A giants find themselves in at the moment.

However, it is quite clear that Postecoglou is happy with his options in both full-back positions, which is why Tottenham seemingly abandoned their pursuit of the 23-year-old.
