According to the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will not consider leaving Tottenham Hotspur on loan in January and is instead looking to seal a permanent move away from the club.
Several Italian outlets have reported over the last week that Juve are eyeing a move for Hojbjerg in January, with CalcioMercato being the first to suggest that the Serie A side will explore signing the Spurs man on an initial loan deal with an option to make it permanent.
It was subsequently claimed by Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) a few days ago that the midfielder’s representatives are expected to fly to Turin to meet the Old Lady’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and discuss a potential transfer.
A loan move is not on the cards for Hojbjerg
Gazzetta have now become the latest outlet to report on Juve’s interest in Hojbjerg, stating that the Dane is a ‘very popular’ target among the Bianconeri hierarchy.
However, the publication adds that the negotiations with Spurs for the 28-year-old are ‘not expected to be very easy’. This is because neither the North London club nor the player are open to a loan move, with both preferring a permanent transfer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Hojbjerg will have just 18 months left on his contract with Tottenham in January. So, the Lilywhites will want any loan move to come with an obligation to buy the midfielder next summer.
